Your African Travel Designer
Who Lives in Africa

Kirsty leadpage

How hard can it be to plan a vacation to Africa? Clearly, difficult as stats show that most people outside of Africa who try to DIY never quite make it. The why is simple: the soul of Africa lives in its nuances. Its on-the-ground know-how that can’t be stitched together by AI. And when an 8-night trip can range from $8,000 per person, you want every moment to be intentional and filled with pinch-me-quick moments.

As one of the few African-based travel specialists, I bring over 30 years of experience crafting tailormade journeys for discerning travelers.

Kirsty Gordon

"I believe that if you live an ordinary life, you tell ordinary stories. Live a life full of adventure and your life story becomes extraordinary."

We go anywhere in Africa as our name suggests, but we've placed our most popular routings below. Browse them all and remember that your dream African itinerary always begins with a real conversation, not an AI-generated plan. If you’re shopping for quick comparisons, we’re not the right fit and we wish you all the best. But If you’re after something unique to you, we'd love to meet.

What's Next?

We’re not in the business of reference numbers. We’re a small, dedicated team that works closely with you to create a personal, one-of-a-kind experience that simply can’t be replicated. That’s why we follow these steps with every new - and even returning - client:

  1. 1
    Get In Touch

It starts with a call with myself, Kirsty Gordon, from our Cape Town office.

  2. 2
Secure Your Ideal Trip & Dates

Myself and the team put together some “routing ideas” for your trip. Rest assured, you’ll be dealing with me exclusively from start to finish, as I firmly believe in our relationship as the core of your great journey.

  3. 3
    Build Your Dream Safari

Once your ideal routing and budget is secured, the planning begins via email or another call.

  4. 4
    Confirmation and Payment

Happy with the proposal? A 35% advanced payment secures your booking, with the balance due 60 days prior to travel.

*If your trip includes gorilla trekking or internal flights, full payment is required for those specific items.

  5. 5
    Take The Journey

Living on the continent and traveling frequently, myself and the Anywhere in Africa Safaris team have an unparalleled knowledge of Africa, enabling us to create journeys that are simply unavailable anywhere else.

But Don't Take Our Word For It...

"Our trip to Botswana was nothing short of extraordinary. Kirsty's meticulous planning ensured seamless transfers between camps within the Okavango Delta, including helicopter rides and airport meet-and-greets. Her professionalism and dedication were evident in every aspect of our journey, making for an unforgettable experience. She was always on top of every transfer and camp, ensuring that we were well taken care of every step of the way."

Cindy Kalkomey

"Kirsty was terrific. We virtually left the plan in her hands and she did a great job. She recommended fabulous accommodations, that were staffed with very nice people. The assistance she had planned for us throughout the various airports made the traveling much easier and the local guides she arranged were very professional, dependable and knowledgeable. But Most importantly she was staying in touch with us throughout the journey to answer any questions we had and making sure everything was going smoothly."

Rich G

"Kirsty worked with our group for nearly two years: helping us decide where we should Safari, and offering us her well-considered suggestions about how we should spend our first trip to Africa. Her suggestions were stellar and we had a life-changing trip! In addition to planning a perfect itinerary, Kirsty guided us through each step, ensuring that we had all of our documents, were well-packed, and that our travel was seamless. Her choices, guides, knowledge, and high touch from beginning enabled us to enjoy the trip of a lifetime!"

FAQs

1. Is there a fee I have to pay to use your services?

No, we do not charge a service fee.

2. How do you choose the establishments you work with?

We only work with establishments we have personally tried-and-tested, and ones we feel comfortable sending our very own family to. We also only work with lodges, individuals and organizations that are ethical, sustainable and improve the lives of surrounding communities and wildlife. We feel very strongly about this and have seen firsthand the role of tourism in protecting and promoting the wildlife, communities and future of Africa.

3. What is the average price of a safari with Anywhere in Africa Safaris?

We specialize in bespoke safari vacations you won’t find on Google. Every journey begins with an obligation-free call to find out your needs, budget, interests and if we'd be the right fit for you. After that we craft an itinerary that reflects exactly what you’re dreaming of.

Because we focus on luxury travel, our safaris, honeymoons, and Indian Ocean island escapes typically range from $1,000 to $5,000 per person per night. Each experience is meticulously planned, deeply personal, and designed to be unforgettable.

4. Can I take young children on a safari?

Yes, it is possible - but these are some important considerations to keep in mind:

  • Age of the Children: We have arranged safaris for children and toddlers right through to teenagers. Depending on the age of your children, we will advise which lodge and country is best suited for them.
  • Health and Vaccinations: We know about the different various vaccinations and certificates needed and will advise and create a routing based on this.
  • Safari Duration: Shorter safaris with fewer hours spent in vehicles are generally more suitable for young children who may have shorter attention spans. Many of the lodges we work with offer children activities and we can customize these in advance.
  • Flexibility: Be prepared for the unexpected. Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed, and young children may have their own schedules and needs. Be flexible and patient.
